Is Your Shower Helping or Hurting You?

Young Living Shower Bath Gel

We like to think of our morning shower as invigorating start to our day. However, because of all of the chemicals in our bath products, our morning shower might be doing us more harm than good.

In fact, because of the warm moist environment, our body is even more receptive to the chemicals in our bath care products; see this article by Dr. Mercola to learn about some of the toxins to avoid in shampoos and bath products.

One way to improve your daily shower is by filtering the water. Chlorine in water can wreak havoc on our bodies, so filtering it with a shower head is a simple way to make your shower less toxic. Berkey shower heads (available on Amazon for about $40) is one good option.

Another way to improve your morning routine is by adding products that actually benefit your body. For an example, here is a quick comparison of Young Living’s bath & shower gels. Using toxin-free bath products is one way to greatly reduce your chemical exposure. However, it’s even better if the products that you are using are also helping your body with the beneficial properties of essential oils!

It’s hard to know which one to choose though, so here’s a quick review of the different options:

Morning Start™ Bath & Shower Gel will help you feel refreshed every day with the power of pure essential oils. Peppermint, Lemongrass, and Rosemary uplift and energize, while Juniper purifies and cleanses the skin.

Evening Peace™ Bath Gel was created to refresh the skin and calm the mind. Essential oils such as Coriander, Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, and Geranium invoke feelings of serenity and relaxation to soothe and nourish the skin.

Sensation™ Bath & Shower Gel contains several pure essential oils revered by Cleopatra. Ylang Ylang’s aroma encourages relaxation, and Jasmine’s aroma enhances feelings of femininity.

Dragon Time™ Bath Gel is especially for those times of the month when women can tend to feel more irritated and on edge. Geranium, Tangerine, Sage, and Clary Sage essential oils are combined with Young Living’s Bath & Shower Gel Base to bring you this calming and soothing shower gel.

If you don’t know which one to choose, you could always go with Lavender Bath & Shower Gel! Infused with pure Lavender oil, Lavender Bath & Shower Gel cleanses, soothes, and relaxes your skin. It’s free of chemicals and synthetic preservatives and contains plant-based ingredients such as coconut oil and star anise.

If you like to “do it yourself,” you will really enjoy Young Living’s Bath & Shower Gel Base. It contains no toxic ingredients and you can mix in your own essential oils! Choose your favorites and make your morning shower truly beneficial. (Comment below with your favorite recipes!)

Young Living also has a special bath gel for children.
