We’ve all done it: we purchase an oil for a specific use, or receive a gift, or get a free oil with our Young Living order. Maybe we use it once or twice but don’t know what to do with it! Here are a few more ideas for using your oils and a few other Young Living products:
AromaEase™ Oil: If you don’t enjoy the scent of DiGize™ oil, try AromaEase™ instead! If you don’t feel the best when you’re riding in the car, try putting a drop in your palms and inhaling the aroma deeply. Rub the rest of the oil on your wrists. You could also rub a drop on your abdomen to ease occasional nausea from motion. (AromaEase is free with your qualifying Essential Rewards order in June 2016!)
Joy Oil: This cheerful oil is great to diffuse in your children’s rooms.
Bergamot Oil: This is D. Gary Young’s top pick to banish emotions of discouragement and downheartedness. (Use it aromatically or topically but remember that bergamot can cause your skin to be more sensitive to the sun.)
Frankincense: This is another good oil to boost your positive emotions. “I met a man at a coffee shop who saw that I was studying about Young Living essential oils. He came over and began to rave about the products… he said he was an engineer and had spent a year or two researching the best essential oil company. He settled on Young Living. I asked him about his favorite oil and he immediately said Frankincense. He liked to take a drop or two in his mouth each day to give him a renewed perspective and to help boost positive emotions.” —Lisa (The Frankincense Vitality™ oil is labeled for internal use.)
Cedarwood: Cedarwood may support the appearance of healthy-looking hair. You can blend it with other oils and add it to your shampoo or conditioner (chemical-free, of course!) for the following purposes:
- Healthy growth: 10 drops each Lavendar, Hinoki, & Cedarwood
- Clarifying: 10 drops each Cedarwood, Juniper, & Citrus Fresh
- Maintaining softness: 10 drops each Cedarwood, Geranium, Lavender, & Ylang Ylang
Lemongrass, RC™ and Wintergreen: Do you sometimes feel like parts of your body are feeling stressed or worn because you use them over and over? Try layering drops of these oils over the affected area.
Thieves™, Melaleuca (Tea Tree) or Clove: For 1-2 weeks dab these oils on your toenails to promote their cleanliness and health!
Animal Scents™ Ointment: One of the moms in our group uses Animal Scents™ lotion on her belly during pregnancy to prevent stretch marks! It’s soothing.
KidScents Tender Tush™ ointment: This was actually developed by D. Gary Young for his wife Mary as a facial balm! As our skin ages we loose elasticity but the essential oils used in Tender Tush™ are harmonized to promote healthy-looking skin, wherever you use it.
Idaho Blue Spruce: Rub a drop on your abdomen and then on your temples and under your nose before bed to promote restful sleep.
Lemon: This is the best thing we know for removing sticky residues from stickers. It works on windows or glass jars. Test on a hidden area before using on a surface like the refrigerator but it often works there too.
Copaiba is known as a “magnifier” and when you use it with any other oil it can amplify the oil’s effects
Tea Tree or Lemon: If you wear earrings these oils are good for using on your earlobes to promote cleanliness.
EndoFlex Vitality ™ Oil: This can be used internally to support overall well-being and energy. It’s also great to apply over the throat/thyroid area.
Purification or Christmas Spirit: Add a drop inside your shoes to freshen them up after a hot summer day!
Lavender and/or frankincense oil: Add a drop or two to coconut oil and apply to your skin after being in the sun to keep your skin smooth and moisturized.
Ocotea: “1 drop of Ocotea oil in the AM and 1 drop in the PM orally helped curb my appetite.” —Margie (Curbing sugar cravings is another benefit that people find when they take Ocotea orally. Many people like to put a drop or 2 under their tongue in the morning and evening.)
Peace & Calming I or II™ and/or Lavender: If you have a fussy baby, dab a bit of oil on your neck or on the child’s blankets. As you hold them they will enjoy the scent and it can have amazing results to calm them.
